Richard Lee Kinney

Richie Kinney, 57, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Monday, April 22, 2024.  He was born March 21, 1967 in Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio, a son of the late Ralph and Miriam Giffin Kinney. 

Richie enjoyed carpentry and watching Westerns.  He was happiest spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was an employee of Rosen Enterprises, however his love of working on the family farm as a young boy and then on his own farm as an adult, remained a constant throughout his entire life. 

In addition to his parents, Richie was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Kinney and Bob Kinney; a nephew, Jonathan Kinney; also a special four-legged friend, “Missy Dog.”

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dyann Detling Kinney; children, Jerrod (Kaitlin) Kinney of Malaga, Jordan Kinney (Cara McBruney) of Bethesda, and Ryan Kemp of Jerusalem; grandchildren, Brody, Aliza, Malone, also a grandson to be born in July; siblings, Donna (Joe) Baker of Somerton, Cecil Kinney (Kaylan Isaly) of Beallsville, Patti (Michael) McPherson of Parkersburg, Brian “BJ” (Nicole) Kinney of Jerusalem; also many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Friday, April 26 from 2pm until the time of the funeral service at 6pm with Rusty Atkinson officiating.  Cremation will follow.
