ROBERT MASON KILDOW
Robert Mason Kildow, born January 23, 1933, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of Bethesda, Ohio, passed away August 6, 2020 at Barnesville Hospital. He was the son of the late Walter and Marjorie Corbin Kildow.
Bob was retired from Consol Coal Company, served several years as Goshen Township Clerk, and on the Union Local School Board. He was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, the Bethesda American Legion Post 90, and a 50 year member of Hazen Masonic Lodge #251. He served his country for two years in the United States Army, in Berlin, during the Korean Conflict. Bob’s favorite contribution may have been his time coaching little league for Bethesda’s young boys and girls.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Shaun David and Barry Robert; four brothers, Richard, Tom, Larry, and David; great-grandson, Mason William; three sisters-in-law; and brother-in-law, Charles C. Gay.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Shirley Gay Kildow; three sons, Chad (Michelle) of Powhatan, Todd (Julie) of Bethesda, and Shane (Patty) of Morristown. Bob is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Dustin (Jennifer), Chance (Misty), Brooklyn (Robby Ayersman), Kane, Ty, Cal, Casey, Torre, Taylor, Luke, and Katie Kildow; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Susan Kildow of Bellefontaine and Susan Witsberger of Bethesda; and brother-in-law, Bradley (Pam) Gay of Pickerington.
Family and friends will be welcome for visitation, Monday, August 10, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from noon until the time of service, beginning at 1:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda. Reverend Tom Detling will officiate. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
As an expression of sympathy, Memorial Contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Bethesda United Methodist Church, 233 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719.
