Robert H. Montgomery

Robert H. “Bob” Montgomery, 82, formerly of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Valley View Haven in Belleville, PA.

Born December 21, 1937, in Mingo Junction, OH, he was a son of the late Benton and Ethel (Fisher) Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann R. (Takach) Montgomery and a brother, James F. Montgomery.

Bob is survived by one daughter, Mary K. (husband Jeff) Stanley of Irondale, OH; one son, Robert A. (wife Alice) Montgomery of Lewistown, PA; two brothers, Thomas (wife Joann) Montgomery, of Weirton, WV and William Montgomery, of Myrtle Beach, SC; three grandchildren, Andrew, Julia, and Rebecca Montgomery, all of Lewistown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from Mingo High School, Mingo Junction, OH in 1955.

Bob worked at Nicholson’s Food Distributing Company in Steubenville, OH from 8th grade until the time he was drafted. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, KY from 1961 to 1963. After his discharge from the Army, he worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in Mingo Junction, OH, retiring as a roll provider, in 1997.

Bob will be remembered for his hard work, generosity, sense of humor, and loyalty to his entire family.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Steubenville, OH.
