Robert James Ochsenbein, (92) of St. Clairsville, Ohio died on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Forest Hill Care Center in St. Clairsville. He was born August 12, 1926 at Lansing, Ohio, the son of Oscar and Hazel Mitchell Ochsenbein.
Bob was an Army veteran who served in the Pacific Islands in WWII. He was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #181, a 32nd Degree Mason in the Valley of Steubenville, OH, the Osiris Shrine, the Shrine Legion of Honor, and a member of the transportation unit taking Children to doctor appointments and to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and Marietta College. He retired from McCrory Stores Corp. with 40 years of service. His avocations were flying airplanes and playing musical Instruments.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Beverly M. Ochsenbein, his brother David, and his sister Marjorie Scott.
Bob is survived by his two children, Roland (Cornelia) of Bolton, MA and Gwen of Sullivan, IN, a brother Harlan of Louisville, KY, three Grandchildren, Allan, Brandon, and Gary, and several nephews and nieces.
Family and friends will be received at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Monday November 26, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, were services will he held on Tuesday at 11 am, with Rev. Robert Carson officiating, interment will be at Linwood Cemetery Blaine. Full military graveside will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association, Masonic Services will be held on Monday at 7 pm at the Funeral Home.
