Robert Bruce Ryder, Jr., 62, of Wheeling Island, WV, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2025.  He was born on September 27, 1962 to the late Robert and Anna (Whitlatch) Ryder.

Robert was a roofer and also worked at a gas station.  He was a family man who was obsessed with his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He also loved listening to rock and roll music and spending time with his dogs.  He enjoyed watching wrestling and his favorite football team, the New England Patriots.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Johnny Ryder; and sister, Elizabeth Jones.

Left to cherish his memory are his longterm companion of 44 years, Violet Fleming; daughters, Brandi Fleming, Misty (Robert) Davidson; grandchildren, Tyler Fleming, Shantel Fleming, Lauryn (Jeff) Vaonakis, Brandon Fleming, Jaryd Fleming, Melody Fleming; great-grandchildren, Laylin, Evelyn, Michael, Parker; brother, Gary Ryder; sisters, Eva Ryder, Deanna (Joey) Crouse.

The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 3-5pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.  A Time of Remembrance will be at 5pm for anyone who wants to share stories of Robert.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to help cover the funeral expenses may be sent to Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.
