Roberta E. Phillips, 89, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 in he home. She was born on February 25, 1932, in Dun Glen a daughter of the late Wilbur and Gaynelle (Shepherd) Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Phillips; a son, Paul Phillips; a stepson, Albert Phillips; 4 brothers, Howard, Melvin, Harvey, and Bernard Thompson; 3 sisters, Helen Tanner, Mildred Rausenberg and Olive Case and a son-in-law, Don McHugh.
Bobbie’s greatest joy was planting her flowers every year. She would enter a vast selection into the fair along with antiques and baked goods, winning many “Best of Show” awards among countless 1St, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons which she kept in albums. She was so very proud of her accomplishments. In many years past, she was a member of the Smithfield VFD Auxiliary.
She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Rosemary McHugh, Kathy Gilday (Jerry McDonald), and Mary (Kevin) Lemmi; in addition to her daughters she leaves behind sons, Norman, and John Phillips; a brother, William Thompson; 3 very special nieces, Shanna Bennington, Shawndel McCain, and Linda Savastone; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St., Dillonvale. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 am in the funeral home with Reverend James Monogioudis officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
