TOGETHER AGAIN:
Ronald George Holzopfel, 90 of Martins Ferry passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at Liza’s Place surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 1, 1933, the son of the late Frank M. and Theresa Immacolata “Molly” Nardone Holzopfel in Tiltonsville, Ohio.
He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in the shipping department, a devout member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the former VFW Post 38 of Martins Ferry, and a veteran of the United States Army from 1953-1955.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia “Jean” (Leach) Holzopfel on July 28, 2023, brother Frank A. Holzopfel , sister, Alice Holzopfel, daughter in law Jane Ann (Cusick) Holzopfel and granddaughter, Natalie Holzopfel.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ronald W. (Cindi) Holzopfel, David (Julie) Holzopfel, Darla (Joe) LaRosa, sister Jeanne (Bob) Simpson, grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah) Holzopfel, Seth (Shannan) Holzopfel, Emily Holzopfel, Vincent (Anna) LaRosa and Vittoria LaRosa, great-grandchildren, Makena, MaKayla and Makenzie as well as many nieces and nephews complete the family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 5 – 7:30pm at the Wilson Funeral Home-Helsop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Fr. Thomas Marut officiating. Burial with full Military Honors presented by the Belmont County Veterans Association at Holly Memorial Garden Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove.
