Shirley Arlene Thomas

Shirley Arlene Thomas, 68, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 7, 2025.  She was born in Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio on May 10, 1957, a daughter of the late William Delmore and Frances Arlene Meek Thomas.

Shirley was a member of the Beallsville First Christian Church and also the Beallsville American Legion Auxiliary #768.  She and her special friend, Cora Tomolonis, enjoyed helping with the various events at the American Legion and spending time with new friends they had made through the Monroe County Senior Citizens program.  Shirley will be remembered by everyone who knew her for her kind heart and her eagerness to help others. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Thomas, a close friend, Sharon Smith Baker, and her companion of many years, Richard “Dickie” Brown.  Left to cherish her memory are a sister, Joan Jenewein; a brother, Lowell “Pete” (Judy) Thomas; a sister-in-law, Wanda Thomas; several nieces and nephews; also many friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 11 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Harper Chapel, Beallsville from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm with Wayne Clark officiating.  Inurnment will take place beside her family in the Beallsville Cemetery at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions may be made to an organization close to Shirley’s heart, Beallsville American Legion Auxiliary #768, 52651 Broad Street, Beallsville, Ohio   43716.
