Sylvia McDaniel, 98, of Bridgeport, OH, passed away September 2, 2020 at Forest Hills Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 9, 1922, in Bellaire, OH, a daughter of the late Ben and Amelia (Slater) Dietrich.
Sylvia was a Christian by faith. She was a “Rosie the Riveter” working at a factory in Cleveland during WWII. She also worked at the Marx Toy Factory, G.C. Murphy, and was a secretary for the Salvation Army and Big Brothers and Sisters. She treasured being a mother above all of her jobs.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. McDaniel; daughter, Linda Burkle; and siblings, Betty, Martha, Walter, and Susie.
She is survived by her children, Christine Long of Wheeling, Charles Michael (Lolita) McDaniel of Wheeling, Kathy McDaniel of Bridgeport, Donald McDaniel of Wheeling, Nancy McDaniel of Bridgeport; grandchildren, David Burkle, Brian (Jackie) Burkle, William Sacco, Sylvia Sacco, Charles (Jenna) Sacco, Steven (Kelly) Sacco, Joel (Mary) McDaniel, Peter (Jennifer) McDaniel, Matthew (Bobbi Jo) McDaniel, Phillip McDaniel, Jennifer (Joshua) Coleman, and Buddy McDaniel; and several great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Saturday, September 5th from 10a.m. until time of service at noon at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport, OH. Funeral service at noon with Pastor Vernon “Chip” Rose officiating.
Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Mt. Olivet, WV.
