THELMA “LUELLA” RAY

After gracing this world for 103 years, Thelma Luella Ray, was welcomed to her eternal home, on February 16, 2022. Luella was born to the late Bessie Lynn Palmer, in Badgersburg, Ohio, on April 1, 1918. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Bedillion Ray; son, James William Ray; brothers, Walter, Leo, and Edgar Palmer; granddaughter, Lisa Ebeling; and grandson, Steven Murphy.

She was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Her journey of faith began with one important step, trusting God, and from there, her daily walk deepened. A pillar of strength, Luella saw many incredible things in her 103 years. She enjoyed piecing and making quilts and time spent with her family, making heartwarming memories.

Luella is survived by; daughters, Martha Loase of Bethesda, Doris Murphy of Sandyville; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Brian Bee, Pastor will be officiating. Interment will take place at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church, 309 Oak Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
