Thomas Lee Rinkes

Thomas Lee Rinkes, 77, of Martins Ferry, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the Hospice of the Valley, Poland, OH. He was born on February 2, 1947 a son of the late Albert and Netamay (Dayton) Rinkes.

Tom retired from the Nickles Bakery in 2009. He was a member of the Martins Ferry PNA Club and the Martins Ferry American Legion Post 38. Tom loved woodworking, mowing his lawn, fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy (Watkins) Rinkes; four daughters, Beth (Paul) McCroskey, Denise Dawson, Joni (Hooper) Wilson and Jamie (Robbie) Seszko; two sisters, Sylvia Renforth Wayt, and Violet (Kenny) Blinco; grandchildren, Grant (Rochelle) McCroskey, Garrett McCroskey, Kenton McCroskey, Sunnie Ruble, Tyler Antonacci, Ian Johnston, Nathan Dawson, Rylie, Lanie, Lexi and Ellie Seszko; and a great grandson, Grant McCroskey.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Martin, Chester, Bill, George, Chuck Rinkes; and a sister, Judy Carley.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 4-7 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home, with Pastor James Hoff officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
