Vernon Ellis Hynes, Sr. 84, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at the WVU Medicine/Wheeling Hospital. He was born July 29, 1940, in St. Clairsville the son of the late Vernon and Helen (Egri) Hynes.
He was a retired construction worker and worked in Coal Mines for years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Vernon was Protestant by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene (Wilson) Hynes, grandsons, Zachary James and Todd James Benda, brother, Richard Hynes.
Surviving are his brother Robert Hynes, sons, Vernon Hynes, Jr, Charles Hynes, James Hynes, daughter, Jennie Perdok, stepdaughters, Lisa McDonough, and Robin Anderson, stepsons, James Bradley and Robert Mann, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren complete his family.
In keeping with his wishes all services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Private burial will take place at Belmont Memorial Cemetery in St. Clairsville, OH.
