Wanda Lee (Keenan) Ryan Monteleone

A life well lived…That was our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Great-Great Grandma and friend, Wanda Lee Ryan Monteleone, went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 5, 2021, at Rolling hills Care Center, Bridgeport, Ohio, the place she called home.

She was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by her mother Beryl Keenan Dean, her father George Keenan, her husband Clarence Ryan, her second husband Frank Monteleone, her loving son Monte Ryan, and her son in law Jim Kindberg.

Wanda was born July 1, 1926, and was a lifelong resident of Martins Ferry, Ohio.  She worked at Angeles Florist for many years and the Salvation Army and the Belmont County Outreach Program.  She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #456.

Wanda’s memories will forever be cherished by those who survive, her son, Gene (Karen) Ryan of Wheeling, WV, her daughters, Lucky (Brian) Carroll of Powhatan, Ohio, Connie (Jim) Stefan of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Bonnie (Herb) Klotz of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Maretta Kindberg of Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Angela Parker of Columbus, and daughter in law Frances Ryan of Martins Ferry, Ohio.

Wanda was a proud grandma to nineteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three great greatgrandchildren.

Our family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Mom’s friends of the First Christian Church, for all the cards, prayers, gifts, and visits.  There are no words to express our appreciation to the staff, nurses, aides and “Special Employees” at Rolling Hills, for all the care, love, laughs, hugs and kisses, your friendships meant so much to our mom and she loved all of you. Also, Amedisys, Hospice St. Clairsville, OH.

Wanda’s philosophy to a long life is to laugh and have fun…live one day at a time…don’t forget to say your prayers.

Friends will be received at Wilson Funeral Home in 920 National Road Brookside on Monday August 9, 2021, from 4-8 pm, and on Tuesday from 12 till time of service at 1 pm, with Rev. Rod Kasler officiating, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
