William Donald Brown

William D. Brown, 82, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away March 25, 2021 at Belmont Manor in St. Clairsville, OH.

He was born April 10, 1938, in Weirton, a son of the late Lewis and Lorene (Veal) Brown.

William was Weir Highschool class of 1955 Valedictorian.  He was a retired foreman and pipefitter for Weirton Steel.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Martins Ferry where he was in the Knights of Columbus.  He loved fishing, especially his fishing trips with his dear friend, Gary Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Parker) Brown; siblings, Claudia Sims, Evonne Jones, Richard Brown, Viola Boxley, Denise Brown, and Paul Brown.

William is survived by his children, Alison Brown of St. Clairsville, OH Donna Brown of Bridgeport, OH, Brett Brown of Pickerington, OH, Stacey Brown of Martins Ferry, OH; sisters, Harriet (Billy) Hyman of Steubenville, OH, Christine Brown of Pittsburgh, PA, Debbie (Reynard) Horston of Steubenville, Sandy Brown of Weirton, WV, Audrey Brown of Pittsburgh, PA, Julie Brown of Weirton, WV,  Tommy Brown of Weirton, WV, Jerry Brown of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Linnzi Tatman, Morgan Homko, Erica (Brad) LaFontaine, Caighton Brown, Bradley Brown; great-grandchildren, Magdalene, Hosanna, Naomi and Laurel Tatman, Skylei Alsobrook, Deija and Ireland LaFontaine, Jaden Honeywood and Taiven Brown. 

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 2p.m. to 8p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry, OH 43935.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 31, 2021 at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Tom Marut and Elder James Agnew III officiating.  Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
