William James Moore

William James Moore, 75, of Piney Fork, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wheeling on March 29, 1947, a son of Jeannette (Stinard) Ogden and the late William H. Moore. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion and Legion Riders Post 682. Bill was retired from the Teamsters where he was a heavy equipment operator and over the road driver for many years. He was also a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and an avid hunter and trapper. Bill’s favorite activity was spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Norris) Moore; mother, Jeannette Ogden; a daughter, Jeannette (Joe) Moore-Shepherd; a son, Casey (Randi) Moore; a brother, Richard (Edna) Moore; two sisters, Janie (Henry) Hubbard and Cathy (Charles) Anufrom; 7 grandchildren, Terry Carson, Sara Moore, Damion (Mariah) Moore-Stock, Clayton Shepherd, Cherokee Shepherd, Kendra Kessler and Julian Moore; a great granddaughter, Hailee M. Moore; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his father and a son, Clayton Moore.

A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 4:30 with Reverend Marvin Schooler officiating.
