At Wilson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, we believe that every life deserves to be celebrated. Our mission is to assist families in creating personalized funeral experiences that honor the life of their loved ones.  

For many years, we have served our community by providing healing and meaningful funeral and memorial services that honor life and meet the needs of those who grieve. Our hope is that from the moment you walk through our doors, you feel welcomed, respected, and heard.

Over the past 100 years, the Upper Ohio Valley has seen numerous changes. However, a constant has been the Wilson Family's involvement in the business community.

Wilson Furniture and Funeral Homes was founded by Charles Adolph in the fall of 1898. In the past, it was customary for furniture store owners to also provide funeral home services because of their carpentry skills, which lent themselves to building caskets.

According to Belmont County history, Charles prospered because he was multilingual. His father was a German immigrant and a language teacher at a small college in East Liverpool. Therefore, Adolph was able to converse with customers who did not speak English. Adolph’s wife, Maggie, was also successful in Bridgeport. She owned a thriving restaurant at the entrance to the busy C&P Railroad Depot, next to the former Bridgeport Bridge.

The business changed names after Charles' son-in-law, Howard Wilson, joined the company. Since then, five generations of the Wilson family have kept the businesses open and thriving.

Howard's son, Charles Adolph Wilson, founded the Wilson Funeral Home in Dillonvale, Ohio, which remains in operation today.

His son, Charles (Charlie) A. Wilson Jr. served as a U.S. Congressman and was the owner until his death on April 14, 2013. Charlie's sons, Jason and Jarrett Wilson, own and operate the family business today.
